The Pic du Midi and all the villages in the Gavarnie valleys are listed as an international dark-sky preserve (DSP). With the International Dark Sky Association label, the Pic du Midi DSP is the sixth biggest in the world. The label is a commitment to providing the purest possible conditions for observing the starry sky by reducing light pollution and the ecological footprint for a sustainable development of our mountains.

Luz-Saint-Sauveur is a peaceful mountain village located in the High-Pyrenees department (Midi-Pyrénées region).

Luz-Saint-Sauveur is the crossroads for multiple destinations. In winter, you can reach, from Luz, the ski resorts of Luz-Ardiden, Grand Tourmalet (Barèges – La Mongie) and Gavarnie. In summer, via the Barègzq valley, you can discover the Col du Tourmalet and the Pic du Midi. Towards Pont Napoléon you are heading towards the famous cirques of Gavarnie, Troumouse and Estaubé. Luz-Saint-Sauveur is also a spa famous for the treatment of the vascular system and the respiratory tract.
