Reducing energy consumption
- Use of energy-saving light bulbs throughout the campsite.
- Motion sensors in the toilet blocks.
- Twilight timers on outdoor lighting.
- Underfloor heating in the main toilet block and the chalets – Wood wool and hemp insulation in the chalets.
- Dechlorinator in the indoor swimming pool = water savings and therefore reduced water heating costs.
- 100% of water heaters are flue-vented and have automatic shut-off = no gas left on in standby mode.
Waste management:
- Installation of bins for glass, recyclable packaging and household waste.
- Ink cartridges are not disposed of but remanufactured.
Reducing water consumption
- Installation of timed taps in the toilets – installation of water-saving thermostatic taps.
- Pool cover for the water slides to catch splashing water.
Respect for the environment
- Use of environmentally friendly cleaning products.
- Lawns are mown using a flail mower, which leaves the grass on the ground.
- Fallen leaves are given to farmers who use them as mulch.
- Wood from tree pruning is used to heat our private home. Thin branches are shredded and fed into the wood-fired boiler at the Hôtel du Tourmalet in Esquièze-Sère.
- We do not use any weedkillers.
